Star Heat & Air has been a fixture in Hendersonville, Tennessee since 1981, when Earl Riley and his son Mike set out to do something simple: take care of their neighbors.
Born and raised in Hendersonville, Earl and Mike understood what it meant to be part of a community. From the beginning, they ran Star Heat & Air not as a transaction, but as a trust — showing up for friends, family, and fellow residents with the kind of honest, quality workmanship that doesn’t cut corners and doesn’t need to. For four decades, that commitment never wavered.
Over the next 40 years, the Riley name became synonymous with reliable HVAC service across the region. Customers weren’t just customers — they were neighbors, and Earl and Mike treated them that way every single time.
In 2021, Mike passed the torch to Sam Pate — a fellow Hendersonville native and longtime friend of the Riley family. Sam didn’t just buy a business; he accepted a responsibility. He understood the legacy that Earl and Mike had built, and he made it his mission to carry it forward.
Today, Star Heat & Air is still family-owned and family-operated. Sam and his wife Carrigan, along with their sons Samuel, JohnThomas, and Arthur, are proud to call Hendersonville home — the same community that gave this company its heart more than 40 years ago. The faces may have changed, but the promise hasn’t: your neighbors at Star Heat & Air will always show up, do the job right, and treat you like family.
