It is always hard to diagnose over the phone; due to the plethora of failures an A/C system can have. We suggest giving us a call and letting our experienced technicians come and take an onsite look.
9. Why is my system making a loud/strange noise?
Loud noises can be caused by anything from bad motor Barings, an imbalanced fan blade, an off balanced unit, or a bad compressor. If a loud noise is happening it is always best to turn off your unit and give us a call to have a technician come out and diagnose the issue.
10. How do I know if I should repair or replace my unit?
There are a few best practices. If your equipment is over the age of 12-15 years or out of warranty and the cost to fix the equipment is more than 50% of a new like system, we will always suggest the consideration of replacement. You can also use this calculation: Age of the unit (years) x Repair cost ($) = Score
Example A (Repair): A 6-year-old unit needs a $500 repair (6 x 500 = $3,000. Because it is under $5,000, you should repair it.
Example B (Replace): A 12-year-old unit needs a $500 repair (12 x $500 = $6,000). Because it is over $5,000, you should replace it.
11. My system uses R-410A / R-22 can it still be serviced?
Absolutely, we are still able to provide service to both types of refrigerant systems.
12. Do the new refrigerant rules mean I have to replace my system (R454 and R32)?
Not necessarily, but most of the time it does require a complete replacement. Call today in order for one of our technicians to come out and provide an exact solution.
13. Do you service just Residential or also Commercial properties?
We service both residential and commercial properties.
Installation & Equipment
14. What brands do you recommend?
We are open to install any brand. However, we prefer the American Standard, Trane, Goodman, or RUUD manufactured equipment.
15. What size system do I need for my home?
This depends on the square footage of the area the HVAC equipment will be servicing. We are always happy to send a technician out to help determine the best sized equipment for your space.
16. How long does a full system installation take?
It depends on the style system, but it typically take between 4-8 hours.
17. Will a smart thermostat work with my system?
Yes, most new hvac equipment can operate and have a smart thermostat added to them at any time.
18. What's the difference between a heat pump and a traditional system?
A Heat Pump operates using freon both in the summer (for AC) and winter (for Heating). A traditional system uses refrigerant to cool a home during the summer months and natural gas or propane in the winter months.
Maintenance & Warranties
19. Do I need my ducts replaced or cleaned?
This depends on the age of the ductwork, as well as if you have been experiencing any allergy related irritations. We are always happy to come out free of charge to take a look at your current ductwork and provide a thorough overview and suggestion.
20. Do you offer a maintenance plan or service agreement?

Ideally Bi-annually, but suggested at least once per year.

We do, but the repair can always pose challenges dependent on how well the previous installers did the install.
Local & Seasonal Concerns
25. Can my system handle the hot, humid summers in Middle Tennessee?
